2023 — the company starts

Flares Inc was founded in 2023 to build critical digital infrastructure: the high-impact systems that form the backbone of a working business. The early focus was the unglamorous layer — identity and verification, payment infrastructure, and the automation that connects the systems a company already has.

The idea then is the idea now. Most organizations do not fail for want of another app; they fail on the joins between the ones they have.

An approach, not a product line

That work settled into a way of building: design the interface first so systems can be connected rather than replaced; build for organizations rather than individuals; and treat reliability as the feature, because infrastructure is noticed only when it is missing.

Today — the Flares platform

The platform on this website is where that approach went. Rather than another standalone tool, Flares is one environment where an organization's people, files, documents, schedule, teaching, administration and fees are the same records seen from different angles.

Schools are the clearest case, which is why Flares for Schools is the most complete part of the platform: a school is an organization where admissions, teaching, administration, families and money all describe the same children, and where keeping those in separate systems costs somebody a whole job.
